A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a hard-working, enthusiastic and highly motivated professional to work as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist within the Medicines Management Service.
Based within the Medicines Management Building at Maghull Health Park, you will join a dynamic, forward-thinking and patient-focused team striving for excellence in the delivery of integrated community and mental health services.
The successful candidate will provide a specialist clinical pharmacist role on a rotational basis for an allocated clinical area and will support the dispensary, clozapine and medicines information services. The post holder will gain further experience in audit, governance, antimicrobial stewardship and in clinical trials.
The post holder will be based at the new Medicines Management Building based on the Trust's Maghull Health Park site. The building was purpose built, opened in 2018 and boasts a range of innovative and automated technologies to support service delivery.
Electronic prescribing and medicines administration has been in use in the organisation since 2016 and is now well established in our inpatient wards. Work is continuing to further develop the use of the EPMA system and the post holder will play a significant part in the optimisation of the system as an expert user during their clinical rotations.
You will be supported by a team of clinical pharmacists and medicines management technical staff providing you with the opportunity to further develop your clinical skills. Previous experience in mental health clinical pharmacy is not required for this position and all training will be provided on induction to the team.
The post holder will be expected to join the out of hours emergency duty pharmacist rota.
Applicants must be currently registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent experiential learning. Pharmacists due to complete the diploma within the next 12 months may also apply.
To be the successful candidate, you must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and time-management skills. You will be reliable, willing to learn and able to work on your own initiative but also flexible to provide support to the wider pharmacy team when required.
