An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Microbiology Department at University Hospital Crosshouse.

You must be HCPC registered and have completed the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology (or equivalent experience). You will also have recent or current experience of working in a Microbiology clinical laboratory setting at band 6 grade. Consideration will also be given to newly graduated applicants who are HCPC registered (such applicants would work at Registered BMS Band 5 level and progress to Band 6 on successful of the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology).

You will be required to rotate through all sections of the laboratory (CL3 Blood Cultures General Bench Enteric Mycology Urines Serology/Virology and Molecular).

Hours: 37.5 per week over seven days. The department operates from Monday to Friday: 9.00am -21.00 Saturday/Sunday 9.00-17.00. After short period of familiarisation you will be required to work within the department seven day extended service and the out of hour's service. Participation in the Public Holiday rotas is also required.
