Special Events Officer
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated individual to join the Conference and Events team at a leading national charity. This is an exciting role with a hugely successful team where no two days are the same. You may be leading on the set up of a national conference one day and organising a high-profile celebrity Gala- Dinner the next. 23,000 Midlands, 26.500 London
Last year, this national charity raised over 25m from individuals, companies, trusts, foundations and community organisations. They believe however that there is potential to do so much more, and this role plays a crucial role in communicating with all their wonderful stakeholders.
The Events Officer leads on the delivery and evaluation of events with a specific focus on priority audiences including supporters, beneficiaries (stroke survivors, their families and carers) and health and social care professionals.
The role will lead on the marketing, planning executing and evaluating of some of the charities biggest events. The role will also provide event management expertise to colleagues within the Marketing and External Affairs and other Directorates.
The role will focus particularly on the prestigious and award-winning ceremony which celebrates the achievements of people affected by this condition as well as other core events delivered by the Conference and Events team.
You will have a proven track record of conference, event and exhibition management and demonstrable experience of working with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
You will need to be a team player with excellent communication and people skills, be pro-active, flexible, resilient, able to work under pressure and be prepared to organise and manage a busy workload to meet deadlines. There is also a requirement to work flexibly and travel to fulfil the role.
Demonstrable experience in special events, ideally within the charity sector Events will include Glala Dinners, Conferences and exhibitions
Experience of working with internal and external partners and stakeholders to achieve shared goals
Experience of working with suppliers
Experience of working with volunteers
Experience of using CRM systems, databases and event management software
Experience and sound understanding of branding and brand development
Experience of working on marketing campaigns, writing copy for websites/intranets and using content management systems
