Monarch Education are seeking an experienced and committed specialist Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant who can support a pupil on a one-to-one basis.
The pupil is in the Nursery class of a Primary School in Corby, having just joined the school this academic year. This pupil is displaying very strong traits of Autism, and as such the school are currently going through the process of an EHC (Educational Health Care) Plan to ensure they are appropriately supported.
The right candidate will be working one-to-one with the pupil, who is currently displaying the following needs:
-Challenging and disruptive Behaviour
-Verbally and occasionally physically aggressive
Due to the nature of this position, the school require somebody with a strong background in supporting pupils with ASD (Autism) or those with challenging behaviours such as pupils with SEMH. The school will consider application from Psychology Graduates with placement experience in ASD settings. It is important that you have a calm but firm and stable approach when working with pupils.
The position would be full time, term time only with potential to progress on to a permanent contract.
The school is based in the Corby area of Kettering and is a larger than average 2 form entry Primary School. They have a strong SEN Team in place, with support and training provided as appropriate to support you in your role.
