A forward thinking company is seeking a Sous Chef for a venue located in York
In this Sous Chef position you will be working for a company that can offer you excellent promotional prospects whilst working in a high volume, fresh food operation. Dealing with high numbers of covers this role of Sous Chef will require you to be highly organised in your own approach to work as well as ensuring that the junior chefs work in the same manner. The venue hosts large events throughout the year with a wide range of customers making it a diverse, interesting role where you will be cooking high quality ingredients to create modern dishes whilst also assisting the Head Chef with the kitchen admin, hygiene regulation, kitchen safety and some of the financial management of the department.
A strong Junior Sous Chef or an experienced Sous Chef who has a background working in banqueting and corporate operations is required. It is important that you have strong all round cooking abilities as well as basic kitchen management knowledge gained from previous positions. The role needs a smart, well presented chef who is used to being customer facing when required.
