Acting for some of the largest insurers, brokers, MGAs and corporates in the property sector, this vacancy is being positioned to Solicitors with either insurancelitigation / professional indemnity/ construction or property damage / experience. As a Solicitor working in the highly regarded Property Damage and Recovery Practice in Manchester City Centre, you will be working with dedicated property insurance lawyers providing advice, liability defence and coverage expertise, including policy drafting, interpretation and advice on the scope of cover and breach of policy terms and conditions. The focus of the role is to handle property damage claims, both liability and recovery, including conducting litigation in the Business & Property court, as well as mediation/ADR. This is an autonomous role, you can expect to enjoy the management of your own caseload, along with assisting others in the team along with working with senior lawyers and partners. Away from technical aspects of the role, you can also take an active role in the support of the Business Development department, maximising your personality and relationship building to contribute to marketing initiatives. Over time you will build a client following and enjoy promotion to Associate and onwards.

The department's personnel have vast experience, which includes policy coverage, multi-million-pound fire spread claims, subsidence, infrastructure damage claims, flood damage, and building defect claims through to engineering and Party Wall Act disputes. Their stand out specialisms is in policy coverage involving fraudulent property damage claims relating to arson, theft and malicious damage.

Experience in handling property-related losses is highly beneficial but is not essential. Experience with insurance coverage/indemnity claims would be an advantage but is not essential. Similarly, experience in construction & engineering would also be an advantage but again, not essential.
