Solicitor - Civil Liberties (NQ - 5 Years PQE)
Location: Liverpool
Salary: Up to £55,000 + attractive monthly billing-based bonus

About the Role:

You will manage a caseload of actions against the police claims from cradle to grave, including matters such as unlawful arrest, false imprisonment, human rights breaches, malicious prosecution, misfeasance in public office, and judicial reviews. This role is litigation-focused, with multi-track cases and civil jury trials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear advice to clients
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documents
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court
  • Work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure case success
  • Stay up to date with relevant legal developments

About you:

  • Qualified solicitor with NQ to 5 years PQE
  • Experience managing own Part 7 litigation caseload
  • Strong client care and quality control skills
  • Excellent knowledge of CPR and pre-action disclosure
  • Experience in multi-track litigation and trials with Counsel advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competent in legal research and case management systems (Proclaim preferred)
  • IT proficient
