The Software Test Analyst will need to come from either a .Net or Java background and will join the associated tea. The teams vary in what they deliver and the types of applications they work on, but all use the latest .Net and Java technologies and deliver with an agile approach.
This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with experience within automated testing and within the following technology stack; C# Java, Ruby, Jenkins, Hadoop, Pig, Team Foundation Server, Selenium, SOAPUI, Postman, Cucumber, JMeter.
*Writing test automation code.
*Carrying out relevant manual/exploratory testing when required
*Championing behaviour driven development testing
*Developing test automation within the program looking to improve scope/coverage
*Providing an overall assurance role across all testing within the program
*Lead the testing effort within a scrum team
*The Test Engineer will be writing automation tests using C# or Java, taking product backlog items and ensuring that the automated tests meet good practices in code and testing standards.
*Where relevant manual tests/exploratory testing will be utilised in conjunction with automated testing, the engineer will be expected to adopt a hands-on approach to both.
*The Test Engineer will create strategies, plans and other testing documents for major/complex projects/changes to ensure appropriate test coverage and maximised defect detection prior to release.
*Analyse requirements/user stories and design automated or manual tests and acceptance criteria to ensure the software under test meets those requirements
*Lead, co-ordinate and participate in test execution, defect recording and capture of test results using agile scrum and/or waterfall approaches as required. This may include the development and use of automated test scripts
*Continually develop own skills as part of a program of professional development
*Previous testing experience in commercial testing
*An interest in any programming language on any platform either in a commercial or personal capacity
*ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
*Evidence of writing SQL queries to setup, manipulate and report on data in a rational databases
*Evidence of writing Behaviour Driven Development tests in the form (Given/When/Then) using industry best practices
*Experience of non-functional testing (most desirable are performance testing, security testing and load testing) and associated test tools
*Experience using test management tools
*Experience delivering testing in Agile and waterfall project environments
*Experience of use of Cucumber and/or Spec Flow
*Experience of use of Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Test Manager
*Exposure to Continuous Integration/Deployment, Rapid Delivery, DevOps environments.
