McGregor Boyall is working closely with an award-winning global software house (Java, C++ and Python development) based in Glasgow city centre to support their ambitious expansion plans. The role offers the chance to work in a number of leading edge areas from developing DevOps tools, to next level Cloud development, iOS mobile apps development or even Cyber Security software.

We're looking for talented software engineers (you could be coding in Java, C++, Python or Objective-C currently) that pride themselves in the clarity of their code. We'd love to hear from technology innovators who like to code and tinker on personal projects in their spare time.

This will also open the opportunities to work on multiple greenfield projects involving the newest technologies in the market such as Java8, Hibernate, Spring Boot, MongoDB and Cloud.

The below experience and technical exposure would be highly advantageous for this position:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in OO software development (any from C++, Java, Python or Objective-C)
  • Ability to demonstrate successful end-to-end software engineering project delivery
  • Knowledge of RDBMS (SQL, Sybase, DB2). NoSQL understanding is a plus
  • Expertise in testing tools such as Junit
  • Sound knowledge of Linux
