Your role

As a Software Engineer with proven experience of web application development, your role will be within the Customer Experience Systems delivery team.

Working in an agile environment, within a small multi-skilled team, you will extend and enhance our digital estate; supporting our marketing, ecommerce and self-service capability.

What will I be doing?

Your role as Software Engineer in this area will be focused on web based customer experience projects, working on strategic initiatives to enhance our external and internal applications, self-service portals, support tools, knowledge platforms; and our ecommerce capability.

You will play a key role in the development and support of these systems, having significant input into design and development. Within your team, you will have the opportunity to influence project outcomes, as well as collaborate with colleagues from the wider KCOM IT team and business areas, from initial engagement through to delivery.

Your role will include tasks such as:

  • Technical and architectural design
  • Experience and interface design
  • Application development
  • Testing and release
  • Client interaction
  • Continuous improvement

What do I need to do this job?

Essential:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Web application development background
  • API development
  • Agile delivery experience
  • Core Skillsets: C#, ASP.NET MVC & Core 2, Identity Server, CSS/SASS, Node/NPM/Gulp, JavaScript, SQL, GIT, MS Environments

Desirable Experience:

  • Umbraco
  • Ecommerce
  • JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Vue, React)
  • Typescript
  • Continuous integration toolsets
  • Test automation practices and tooling
  • User centred design

What are my hours of work?

You'll be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
