Position: Software Engineer (Plant 3D) 
Location: Chesterfield (Commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Lincoln and surrounding areas) 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Salary: £40k 

About the role: 

The Software Engineer will be working within Agile Scrum teams alongside other developers, product specialists, testers and documenters, their Software Engineers play a key role in the development and maintenance of Plant and Marine product ranges. They have a varied role from establishing product requirements, feature design, scope planning, task breakdown and estimation, code development, regular reporting, documentation and delivery of timely solutions. 

About you: 

You have demonstrable experience of using object-oriented languages such as C++ and C# to design, develop and deliver software solutions on time and to specification. You have worked with version control tools such as ClearCase, Subversion or Git and are familiar with collaborative project management systems such as TFS or Jira. 

You are a keen member of the software development community, aware of established principles such as SOLID and design patterns and interested in emerging tools and technologies. Your knowledge of Fortran (or willingness to learn) is a distinct advantage. 

You are a strong team player, able to work alongside and contribute to a skilled team with overlapping experience and expertise. You are an active collaborator, recognising communication as a valuable part of working effectively as a member of your company’s multinational software development community. 

Whilst this role is based in their Chesterfield office, it will involve infrequent short duration (generally 5 days or less) visits to their Cambridge office and occasionally worldwide.
