Software Engineer - Manchester - upto £60,000

Do you want the opportunity to work with a global leader in big data and analytics? With offices globally and their HQ based from a stunning Manchester top floor office this really is an opportunity to join a fast growing and highly developed client.
My client specialises in big data and text analytics within the finance, gaming and banking sectors. Born out of the desire to innovate and provide top quality technology they leverage digital data for identity verification and apply it to business needs amongst various sectors.
They are searching for an experienced Full Stack developer who will develop and maintain a variety of internal userfaces, customer-facing browser scripts and their associated back-ends.
Working closely with and collaborating with other software engineers you will implement and manipulate multiple internal microservices and contribute towards their maturity and growth alongside the companies natural development.
Regular Duties:
*Maintaining and evolving our cutting-edge data processing systems.
oScala, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, Redis.
oTraversal of, and analytics on distributed graphs.
oAggressive data ingestion through public APIs and crawling.
*Maintenance and improvement of existing back-end systems as needed.
oCustomer-facing and internal RESTful APIs.
oInterdependent data processing pipelines.
oAsynchronous and reactive programming.
oEnhancing runtime telemetry and tests.
*Documenting their work meaningfully throughout code, issues, and pull requests.
*Delivering consistent, robust, predictable software.

Key Skills:
*Full English proficiency. Eligible to work & live in the UK.
*At least 1 year of professional experience as a software engineer.
*STEM background.
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*The candidate must show initiative, self-organisation, discipline.
*Experience with Scala or Java and related ecosystems.
*Familiarity with containerisation, continuous integration, DevOps.
*The candidate must be open to embracing new programming practises.
*Familiarity with functional programming paradigms as a plus.
*Good grasp of Python.
*Strong working knowledge of Git.
*The candidate takes pride in their work and is not intimidated by knowledge sharing.

Bonus Round:
Knowledge of UI toolkits (Bootstrap or Foundation)
Experience of app containerisation & continuous integration
Manchester based
Available immediately
