Software Engineer/ Developer/ Programmer- C++ / Desktop
Location- Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary - £35,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

A forward thinking software company based in central Newcastle are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join their department. The team are passionate about the work they do and are all advocates of working to industry best practices including pair programming, test driven development and working within an agile environment.

You will be working in an open plan office in the centre of Newcastle in close proximity to public transport links and all the local bars/restaurants.

You will ideally come from a strong academic background and you should have a Degree in a numerate/scientific/computer related discipline. If you have a mathematical problem-solving brain you’ll be a good match for this team! The interview process will involve a technical discussion with the line managers and the opportunity for you to demonstrate your experience in software engineering.

Skills
• C++ experience, ideally developing end user desktop apps
• Strong software engineering skills with knowledge of modern development principles and best practice
• Experience of different and varied APIS
• TDD
• UI Design – desirable

You will need to be comfortable working in a collaborative agile development environment and be the type of person who will actively get involved in team discussions around finding new solutions to problems.
