Your new company
This organisation is a leading engineering firm based in Poole, right in the centre of the South Coast. Due to sustained growth they are now in a position to add a Software Engineer to support their various systems working with .Net or C++
Your new role
You'll be working in a highly skilled team of engineers to keep the company's products ahead of industry standards. You'll have responsibility for writing technical documentation, liaising with customers and of course producing clean, well-structured code for both either embedded products and .Net desktop applications. you'll also have the opportunity to get involved in system architecture decisions.
The company sits in the medium size bracket where you retain autonomy and control of projects and can influence the direction of the department and the systems used internally, without corporate red tape.
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for candidates that subscribe to SOLID principles and modern coding practices. Crucially you should be a strong Object Oriented Programmer and will have an appreciation for clear, maintainable code. This could be with C#, WPF through the MVVM approach or it could be a strong C/C++ knowledge looking to move to C#.
If looking at the low level you'll have Embedded systems experience (C/C++). and would have an interest in lower level programming, the nuts and bolts and problem solving associated with Embedded, rather than a typical 3 tier software or web development approach and will be an expert operating in a Visual Studio environment.
You must have taken projects from concept/design to build and release on budget and within prescribed timescales. Communication skills and the ability to manage upwards and downwards are essential.
What you'll get in return
This position comes with a generous benefits package including life insurance, pension contributions and free parking on site. The company operate a flexible working pattern and offer 25 days holiday as standard. They have excellent retention levels and pride themselves on being a welcoming, enjoyable place to work.
