Medicare First is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social worker to work full time working within the Family Placement Service based in Darlington. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum social worker job is £25-26per hour and is an initial 3-month contract.

About the Role

The Family Placement Service in Darlington is responsible for the recruitment, training, assessment and support of foster carers, connected carers and adoptive parents. Social Workers within the Family Placement Service work closely with child care Social Workers to ensure that children and young people are matched appropriately with their carers or adoptive parents.

The work within the service is interesting and rewarding and will give the successful applicant the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of fostering and adoption.

To be Considered for the role you must have the following:
Degree or equivalent in social work
Current HCPC registration
Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
2 years post qualified with experience within local authority child protection teams
