As Head Teacher you will be expected to provide strong and effective leadership, ensuring high quality education for all learners.

You are outward-looking and have a clear commitment to the principles of inclusion, excellence and equity. You have the ability to inspire others through your energy, creativity and strong leadership. You will be responsible for:
Managing the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils and the wider community in compliance with the requirements of the statutes relating to the provision of education and the general duty of care owed to staff and pupils.
Taking forward the vision and values of the school, setting and implementing procedures and policies within the Council’s improvement framework and through the principles of Getting it Right for Every Child.
Ensuring effective communication with and for staff, pupils, parents and other users of the school.
Leading change and improvement.
Developing the curriculum and ensuring high quality learning and teaching.
Ensuring the wellbeing of children, young people and colleagues.
Raising attainment and achievement for all young people.
Maintaining an ethos of shared endeavour in support of excellence for all and celebrating success.
Acting on behalf of the Council, as principal professional adviser to the Parent Council under the terms of the Parental Involvement Act 2006.Responsibilities
It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.
Employment History/Foreign Police Check
Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
