South Lanarkshire Children and Justice Services are recruiting a social worker to fill a vacant permanent post within the pan Lanarkshire Court Services team.
As a Social Worker within our Justice Service you will work as part of a dedicated Court based Social Work Team providing statutory social work services across North and South Lanarkshire authorities covering the Hamilton, Airdrie and Lanark Sheriff Courts. Candidates will have previous experience in statutory Social Work services with a confident approach to working with court and wider judiciary personnel. Candidates should have a clear understanding of risk assessments and be able to prioritise their workload. Excellent assessment, report writing and communication skills are also essential to this post. This post requires the ability to be flexible towards place of work and be in a position to travel between courts.
You will be line managed by a Senior Social Worker and your supervision and professional development will be an essential element of your post. You will work as part of South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership and work in collaboration with a range of statutory and third sector agencies.
This post requires approved qualifications in Social Work e.g. Degree in Social Work / Dip SW/CQSW/CSS Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is also mandatory.

Employment History/Foreign Police Check
Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.

This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.
The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal records check provided by Disclosure Scotland.
