MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Skillnet is a specialist provider of Apprenticeships in the automotive sector. Operating nationally, each year we manage the training for more than 4000 people. We run the national Apprenticeship Programmes for Ford, Daf Trucks and Scania Great Britain as well as programmes for independent motor businesses.

To work with Skillnet learners working towards level 2/3 apprenticeship frameworks in the following areas:

Non Technical

  • Business Administration Level 2/3
  • Management Level 3
  • Team Leader
  • Functional Skills
  • Customer Service Level 2/3

There will also be a requirement to develop and create further opportunities within all Skillnet programmes.

The delivery will have a blend of both VRQ and VCQ using a wide range of learning materials to encompass and enhance various learning styles. Lessons are to meet the standards of the curriculums and satisfy internal and external requirements. This is an exciting opportunity which will benefit a person with good organisation skills and forward thinking to develop Teaching and Learning guides, learner’s notes, lesson plans and schemes of work to meet the national occupational standards. An essential part of the role is providing professional VCQ monitoring, assessment and feedback where you will be required to assess competency and knowledge of apprentices against the standards and progress and achieve apprentices in a timely manner.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment of new learners.
  • Conduct Work Place Induction for all new learners as detailed in current procedures.
  • Visit learners at work place, carry out workplace reviews and assessments, gather evidence, assess progress, observe work practices and update learner records in accordance with current procedures.
  • Complete reviews for each learners in accordance with current procedures
  • Advise and counsel learners as necessary regarding training, welfare and discipline.
  • Carry our Health and Safety monitoring and vetting of employers to ensure adequate facilities, insurance and statutory Health and Safety requirements.
  • Contribute to Monthly Meetings.
  • To monitor frequency, content and consistency of reviews and assessment throughout multiple site contracts.
  • Liaison with Regional Skills Manager to ensure co-ordination between on-the-job and off-the-job training
  • Liaison with employers
