A skilled engineering machinist job to work in a tool room on a mix of conventional and CNC machines
Your new company
Your new company is a well-established manufacturing business based in the heart of Burnley who have had continuous growth over the past 5 years. They have recently bought a new factory and continue to grow their business by expanding their client base, product offering and subsequently headcount. They have been established for over 30 years and pride themselves in excellent customer service and high quality products. Due to company growth, they are now seeking a permanent machinist to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.
Your new role
This job as a skilled machinist will be working in the toolroom on a number of machines to produce engineering tooling to a high standard. Machines will include lathes, millers, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, dividing heads, polishing, lapping, drills, saws, etc. The machines are a mix of CNC and conventional machines, and you will be fully trained on the machines you don't have the experience in therefore becoming an extremely skilled engineer with a fantastic foundation to build on if you're an ambitious candidate
What you'll need to succeed
You must be time served, and currently working on either conventional or CNC machines, capable of reading engineering drawings and manufacturing close tolerance engineered tooling. You are not expected to have experience on all the machines listed above, training will be provided in the needed areas but with that in mind you must have a keen hard working attitude with a thirst for learning new machines and a want to up skill your engineering expertise.

Aside from an extremely competitive salary of up to £38,000 you'll be joining an extremely skilled tool room with the opportunity to learn many new machines in order to further develop your skills and ultimately progress your career. Alongside this the salary is negotiable and the organisation are extremely competitive, and there is a clear opportunity to continuously increase your salary after joining the organisation, performance based. The tool room operates a 3 week rotating shift pattern, but shifts can be discussed prior to the interview as they do vary from person to person.
