Simpsons Malt are the UK’s leading, independent malting Company, with 150+ years of successful supply to brewers and distillers with a customer range from the smallest craft & micro brewers to multi-nationals in the UK and around the world.
Our Tivetshall Maltings site, between Norwich and Diss, has and continues to receive significant investment. Its USP is in the production of a range of quality speciality and base malts for the brewing industry-with an increasing export business.
This is a challenging production site, with 7X24 batch processing and a wide range of plant and equipment that includes old(tried and tested) driers, dressers, elevators & conveyors as well as new(state of the art) PLC controlled roasting ovens, germinating vessels and palletiser/bagging line. In line with this investment program our engineering department is growing in numbers(8) and restructuring to grow management presence, increase the proportion of the week covered by shift work and insure that all three activities of breakdown recovery, PM delivery and process improvement get appropriate focus.
This role will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for resource allocation/prioritisation and developing/motivating the team of engineers to support production operations in terms of breakdowns and PM's. The site is safety and quality driven and so the way work is done is just as important as producing the numbers to satisfy customer demands.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary related to their experience and qualification that also includes a Company Bonus and generous life assurance and pension benefits and holiday increasing with service up to 34 days inclusive of Bank Holidays.
