Site Engineer - Birmingham - Student Accommodation- 3 month rolling contract

My client is a main contractor specialising in new build Education, Health, Industrial & Commercial projects on values up to £50million. Due to continued success in the West Midlands, they are looking to grow their Operations Team for their Birmingham office.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the candidate will be required to accurately set out the works in accordance with the drawings and ensure they are constructed in accordance with the specification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting out works using appropriate instruments to an acceptable level of accuracy having regarding to the drawing, specification and site instructions.
  • Checking the accuracy of the setting out at all stages of construction.
  • Applying relevant information to make appropriate decisions which reflect key priorities and requirements.
  • Monitoring and auditing the quality of own and others' work and procedures, processes and legislation required.

    Successful candidates will possess HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent, valid CSCS card with First Aid and SMSTS (desirable).

Ideally candidate will hold a proven track record of completing large civil engineering projects on schedule and within budget and practical experience of managing and setting Subcontractors to work. Experience of computer programmes including CAD and Microsoft Office and an eye for detail and for quality of build is required.
