Purpose of Role
The work to electrify the Midland Main Line is a vital aspect of Network Rail's strategy to provide a safe, reliable and efficient railway. Carillion Powerlines Group Joint Venture are carrying out works to make the line completely electrified using a 25kV Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) design. Bridges and tunnels on the route will be altered or rebuilt as well as work to remodel stations and carry out line speed improvements.
We are seeking Site Engineers to set out Overhead Line equipment (OLE) and associated structures on the Midland Main Line route, acting as the Technical Advisor on site the successful candidate will responsible for setting out, levelling and surveying the site. The Site Engineer will also be liaising between Design Engineers and Construction Teams to ensure plans and drawings are accurate and achievable.
The role would suit Engineers with Rail experience although this is not essential, we would also be looking for the following competencies to be held:
-HNC/Civil Engineering Degree
•Setting out Trial Holes
•Reading topographical drawings
•Quality Control of the works ITP's / check sheets
•Keeping site records daily diaries / RV's etc
•Support production of weekly rolling programmes
•Support to assistant site engineers
•Production of permits to penetrate for authorisation by the Appointed Person
• Support the production of Work Package Plans / MS / RA's / Task briefings
•Assist in development of construction methodologies / plans / programmes
