Site Electrician

Adecco Kendal are currently recruiting for a Site Electrical Supervisor for our client based near Ambleside.

The role of Site Electrician is to provide electrically based maintenance support across the business and deliver this to the required standard in a safe, cost effective and customer focused manner.

Normal weekly hours are 38.25 working Monday - Friday, 7.45am to 4.30pm with an early finish on a Friday.

Key Accountabilities:

1.Health and Safety
Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and Health and Safety requirements, including voltages, cable sizing. Putting breakers and trips in to make a safer working environment.

*Electrical work to support substations - make sure everything safe - heat spots, breakers (cold). Dealing with trips.
*Electrical work to support department substations (from main substation) - all aspects of electrical, preventative action and breakdowns.
*Order electrical equipment (wiring, lights, crane parts).
*Planning of wiring panels and control panels (do drawings to include cable sizes, volt drops etc). Pricing of new activities.
*Liaison with different agents (electrical dealers and other specialists). Manage their input / output e.g. further to their assessment of a particular situation e.g. lighting in department versus carbon footprint, confirm requirements
*Undertake other routine maintenance e.g. boilers.
*Liaise with operatives to understand faults and breakdowns and likely causes.
*To provide out of hours emergency call out cover to electrical breakdowns during the normal working week.
*To document all external company electrical inspections. Prioritising and carrying out all outstanding inspection faults.
*To design, install and test new electrical circuits as per business requirements.
*To provide support to the Maintenance Manager in his absence by documenting and delegating maintenance jobs.
*To supervise and advise the department fitters on any electrical issues.
*To mentor any electrical apprentices if required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Competence in required areas of electrical activity
NVQ/BTEC or equivalent in electrical engineering
Up to date electrical certification
