Due to business growth our client is looking for a Site Agent/ Manager to work from sites / offices in Newmarket. This opportunity may suit an experienced supervisor looking to advance their career to the next level or an experienced Site Manager, but applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ construction experience, to include new build, property extensions, refurbishment projects.
This exciting new role will include setting up and managing small to medium sized construction projects, as well as refurbishment & groundwork related projects. Project related skills will include basic setting out, surveying/ estimating for new works, checking compliance of subcontractors, ordering materials, problem solving on site, maintaining H&S on site .
Ideal candidates must be highly self-organised, able to read detailed building/groundworks plans and to organise and execute works using in-house teams and subcontractors, checking and overseeing jobs to ensure consistent quality standards are met.
A high degree of financial awareness and commercial savvy is required. Specifically, you should be able to work with your teams to generate work in progress and monthly cost accrual figures. Construction related qualifications, knowledge of CDM regulations and any plant tickets would be advantageous as well as a willingness to be hands on when necessary.
Excellent written and verbal skills combined with a high standard of personal presentation will be required together with an enthusiastic outlook and ability to manage personal time to high productivity levels.
Candidates should have a proven track record in the construction and/or remediation industries.
