Ward A2 is a 30 bedded mixed sex, busy, vibrant environment that has strong links with other areas within the Urgent and Emergency Care Clinical Business Unit with a specialist interest in Diabetes and Endocrine.

A2 admits patients from the Emergency Department and AMU with a wide variety of Medical conditions, a treatment plan is initiated and patients are then transferred to the most appropriate area of the Hospital within 72 hours.

If so, A2 is looking for Band 6 Ward Sister’s/ Charge Nurse’s to join our already established senior nursing team. We are fortunate to have a senior nursing team who are committed to the development and progression of team members on A2.

As a Band 6 sister/Charge nurse on A2, you will regularly be the nurse in charge of the ward, ensuring that your effective leadership and communication skills drive high standards of patient-centered care from your team. You will be an approachable, pro-active and dedicated nurse with sound clinical skills. You will have a minimum of three years post qualifying experience and have the confidence to challenge decisions where appropriate.

You will be accountable to your Band 7 Ward Manager, supporting them in implementing new ideas and changes. You will also be involved in recruitment and retention, completion of individual performance reviews, audit and innovation.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy, challenging environment.

You will also possess excellent communication skills, time management, organisational skills and the ability to mentor junior staff.
