Are you an experienced Signalling Designer holding a current Designer or Principal designer licence? looking to join one of the UK's most prestigious Engineering Consultancies where you will be able to utilize your skillset and knowledge on some of the most exciting Signalling projects in the UK.

Ford & Stanley Digital are recruiting a Signalling Designer on an initial 3 Month Contract (Inside IR-35) for their client based in the Midlands (Remote working available) on very attractive Day Rates

The Role

Your role will be to provide excellent multi-disciplinary signalling capability to projects of varying sizes, and to provide signalling skills and technical knowledge of railway design and operations, within an environment of high quality and timeliness.

Ensuring the successful delivery of multidisciplinary rail projects and bids across my cilents UK Rail portfolio, you will be responsible for, and typical activities will include:

  • Provide and undertake appropriate signalling design capability to signalling and other railway projects.
  • Provide engineering skills and technical knowledge of railway signalling, within an environment of high quality and timeliness.
  • Also responsible for signalling design input and draft signalling calculations to multidisciplinary design teams on small to medium sized projects.
  • Undertake risk assessments and analysis using the appropriate tools and methods required.
  • Ability to plan and manage the work of self within the defined scope of a signalling task or activity.
  • Responsible for own activities to agreed timescales.
  • Reports to team leader, project manager, and ultimately the Group leader.

The Ideal Candidate

  • All-round underpinning knowledge of signalling design principles, standards, components, and fabrication methods.
  • Basic knowledge of railway systems, (and the key interactions between other railway assets), and with railway operating practices.
  • Working with only limited supervision. Has an area of responsibility clearly defined and liaises with senior staff.
  • IRSE Licence 1.1.510 Signalling Designer or IRSE Licence 1.1.550 Signalling Principles Designer
