Sales Consultant

The successful applicant will be required to support two other members of staff in making sales of bathrooms and related products to members of the public and to tradespeople, and to make sales of their own in due course. The successful applicant MUST be able to carry out ALL the duties listed below and MUST fully meet the Person Specification

Duties will include the following:

  • Making profitable sales
  • Working as a part of a team to achieve sales and administrative objectives
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Making and answering phone calls
  • Establishing customer’s needs
  • Preparing quotations
  • Creating computer aided designs (training will be given)
  • Processing customer orders, checking acknowledgements, and ensuring that supplies arrive in good time.
  • Checking orders and stock levels in warehouse and stock rooms
  • Preparing delivery tickets and obtaining payment
  • Assisting in after sales procedures
  • Daily cashing up routines
  • Keeping point of sale pricing up to date, presentable and effective
  • Ensuring that faulty or unwanted goods are returned to supplier for credit
  • Other such tasks that contribute to profitable sales and assist other staff in their duties

Person Specification.

  • Ability to meticulously follow verbal instructions and written procedures
  • Able to positively engage with all customers ensuring confidence that their needs will be fully understood and dealt with accordingly
  • Must be presentable, enthusiastic and enjoy dealing with people
  • Able to competently use Microsoft Word and Excel at a basic level
  • Competent in using email and databases
  • Must have GCSE Maths and English at level C or above (or similar qualifications)
  • Must have previous experience in Sales, by which we mean selling combinations of goods costing in total thousands of pounds
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team, and as an individual

Hours: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday (Closed Sundays) Please note that there will be a fixed midweek day off, but that may be changed due to operational requirements or by personal request.

Holidays: 21 days plus all bank holidays except Good Friday

Salary: £22,000 per year plus teambonus to reflect departmental levels of profit on sales (On target £4000 per annum)

Training: Appropriate product knowledge, computer aided design and other training will be provided as required - some of which may occasionally require staying away overnight
