We are seeking a skilled shipping coordinator to join a friendly team based in Bridgwater. This is a very busy and varied role and will involve working closely with the operations and sales teams both in the UK and abroad. You will be responsible for arranging Domestic and International shipping, dealing with import and export paperwork and ensuring all customs documentation is correct.
The company manufactures equipment both in the UK and in the USA and transports goods around the world by sea, air and truck. In order to this effectively they will be looking for you to build strong working relationships with freight forwarders for both domestic and International shipping and to able to confidently negotiate competitive pricing. You will also be dealing with Letters of Credit and arranging export documentation, adhering to customs procedures and the requirements for each country. You will also need a good understanding of harmonised tariff codes and be able to communicate shipping information and ensure the documentation reaches all the relevant parties, internal and external, agents and customers.
To be considered for the role you will need previous experience with international shipping and customs. You will need to be self-motivated, well organised, have a sense of urgency and the ability to pay attention to detail is a must. You will need to have an excellent communicator, be a team player and be approachable.
