Quarriers is a Scottish charity working in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council to support families affected by disability region-wide. We are recruiting Sessional Family Support Workers to join our friendly, hardworking teams who provide a range of support for children and young people with additional support needs.

This post offers a rewarding career where you will become part of our friendly and professional team helping children with additional support needs, young people and their families live the lives they choose by providing fun, inclusive and flexible support. Our work with children and teenagers includes individual and social group activities which take place after school and weekends. The successful candidates must be able to work flexible hours after school, evenings, weekends including occasional early morning’s and overnights if your commitments allow, and have experience in working with children and young people with learning disailities and/or ASD.  In return we offer full training, travel expenses and personal development.

We are looking to recruit Sessional Family Support Workers within the following areas: Dumfries, Annan, Gretna, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright, Dalbeattie, Newton Stewart, Stranraer.

Due to the nature of the role it is desirable that you hold a full current driving license and have access to a car.

All our sleepover shifts will be paid at the Scottish Living Wage of £8.75 per hour

IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.

Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC. Where you are employed in a service where registration is compulsory, you must ensure that you register in the appropriate category within 6 months of starting in post. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified within 3 years.

Family based short breaks for significantly disabled children and young people from birth to age 25
