TEMPORARY FOR 1 YEARROLE DEFINITION

To assist and support Senior Management within Health & Social Care Partnership with specific responsibility for Health and Safety initiatives.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Responsibilities

  • To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To ensure effective management of Health & Safety across the Partnership.
  • Support and actively contribute in assessing and recording risks arising out of work activities, with the aim of eliminating or controlling the risks.
  • Ensure Risk Assessment library is maintained, up-to-date and communicated across the Partnership.
  • Support and actively contribute the completion of Health & Safety Action Plans arising from incidents.
  • Liaise with Corporate Health & Safety.
  • Attend all relevant meetings in relation to Health & Safety and assist Heads of Service in Health & Safety Visits
  • Support and contribute to the completion of Health & Social Care Partnership Health & Safety Action Plan.
  • Support managers in Health & Safety Inspection Programme ensuring all defects identified are corrected timeously.
  • Support employees/management after an incident has occurred ensuring immediate action is taken and remedial measures are put in place via management.
  • Monitor and report on Health & Safety matters, reviewing trends, statistical information and control measures.
  • Actively promote all Health & Safety campaigns/policies and procedures by encouraging health & safety best practice throughout the Partnership.
  • Raising awareness of causes/types of incidents and assisting in the development and delivery of Health & Safety communications including Toolbox Talks.
  • Any other duties as required by management.
  • Support Team & Unit Managers in ensuring effective systems of reporting and communication on Health & Safety Matters are in place.
