My client is a leading provider of specialist managed IT services, consulting services and project services primarily into FTSE 100 companies. They are an established, rapidly growing company with an enviable reputation for their technical solutions, innovation and creativity, employing some of the best brains in their sector. To support their continued growth, they now require a Service Delivery Manager.
The Service Delivery Manager will manage the end-to end engagement with clients from order confirmation through various complex delivery phases to final customer hand-over. Working closely with sales staff and other senior internal stakeholders, the Service Delivery Manager will help plan implementations to make best use of resources and achieve high levels of client satisfaction. Every client is different, so a flexible and pragmatic approach is required with the ability to identify opportunities for further business development and service improvements. The role is based in Manchester but UK and international travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a good track record of dealing face-to-face with clients, probably gained in a project management or service delivery capacity but not necessarily in an IT envrionment. He or she will have strong problem solving skills, the confidence to make commercial judgements and will be able to communicate their ideas both internally and with the client. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as is the ability to juggle competing demands of the business and the customer. Above all we are looking for a team player, able to keep several plates spinning at once and who is comfortable working in a demanding, high technology environment.
