Senior Web Developer

Tanist are on the look out for a talented Web Developer to take on a key senior position growing all business platforms and developing a variety of bespoke projects.

This is an amazing opportunity for a senior web developer to lead our growing web development team at our new Bodmin offices. We’re a team that like to create and build for a variety of different businesses and applications. You will play an instrumental part in the growth of our platforms as well as lead the development of a variety of bespoke projects.

We welcome fresh ideas in order to continue to expand and continually improve the services and support we offer. You will be responsible for innovating projects and planning and scheduling work packages and team members. As the key architect of our web and app development projects, you will lead their implementation by example and ensure development practices and processes are efficient.

You will be client focused, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of work packages to customers and maintaining positive client relationships. Responsible for quality control, you will ensure produced development work is tested and functions across all platforms. Tanist prides itself on making things the best they can be, and you will be required to apply your knowledge and experience to ensure we are following best practices.

There is room to innovate, inspire your team and make this role your own. Our hope for the successful candidate is that they take on leadership of our existing development business and continue to fuel the growth we have achieved over the last 10 years.

About You

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Degree in IT or other relevant degree
  • A critical eye for web design and application development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on Team Leadership and Management experience
  • Wide ranging experience of programming and development in a commercial environment
  • An understanding of and desire to use good software engineering practices
  • Ability to solve problems, overcome obstacles and take things to completion
  • Strong CSS, HTML and Javascript skills with underlying programming knowledge that can be applied to any language.
  • Time management ability and awareness

Tanist has a modern approach and a strong reputation for providing quality, reliable, fully working solutions to the unusual and wonderful issues clients are faced with. We even build our own stuff, sometimes printing components with our 3D printer and constructing new devices. Tanist specialises in home automation services, enabling clients to remotely control their heating systems, lighting, video and audio within a property.

We have been installing webcams in locations across Cornwall for over 10 years and offer a wide range of cameras depending on the features and image quality required. We have created the streaming video provider to enable us to offer high capacity video feeds that are compatible with mobile devices and don’t buffer or stutter when under high load.

We enjoy R&D as well as supporting all our customer's systems. You will be part of this innovative and forward thinking team. Our staff of 10 is increasing to meet the demands of the growing business, so this is an exciting time to be joining us.
