Senior Web Developer (microsoft platforms)
Bath (1 day a week in office or more)
We are supporting this brilliant business with a new hire for their web team. I know you probably see a lot of job adverts using the words 'amazing', 'fantastic', 'epic' and as cliché as they are, I'm putting my neck on the line and saying this company are all 3 and more. The most down to earth manager, who just gets it, loves technology and nice people.
The business has had a crazy successful year, are under going a digital transformation and mid way through re-architecting their systems. The IT department is made up of 50 people most based in the South West but they do have a small London office too.
Their platform is used by over 900 users nationwide, and support 75% of the top companies in this space. You'll be joining to support their Technical Lead, this isn't a management focused role but to take on some of the technical responsibilities, add value with ideas and innovations. Someone who can look at user stories, can design and implement. The wider business has given the tech team full autonomy with their transformation and they really are at the fore front when it comes to their technology choices.
You'll follow Agile development principles, where they work in 2-week sprints and never missed a deployment. The team you will be working within are made up of 4 developers, 2 testers and 2 BA's. You'll work on a range of varied projects and technologies all within the Microsoft stack and be very much a key part of re-building to one modern cloud native platform. You will need good knowledge of modern development processes, application design, and relational databases.
You'll have experience using Microsoft technologies including:
- ASP.NET Core 3.1
- ASP.NET MVC
- REST API development with ASP.NET
- Azure PaaS Services (App Service; Functions; Key Vault; Storage; Cosmos DB)
- Azure DevOps (Boards; CI/CD Pipelines; Repos)
- Source Control (Git)
- Unit Testing
- SQL Server\Transact SQL
- Entity Framework
The following are desirable, but of course you can learn on the job:
- Azure CLI
- Containers (Docker)
- OpenID Connect / OAuth2
- Secure Development Principles
Lots of chance to progress, with a salary up to £60,000. Office based in central Bath, 2 mins from the station. Moving forward they are following a hybrid model, although the office cannot actually house everyone in the business so things are pretty flexible and looking likely you'll chose what works for you but will be required in the office once a week, but if that doesn't work at least once every 2 weeks for sprint planning.
- 25 days annual leave
- Flexible working hours
- Pension scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Technical training courses inc security in your first year of employment.
- Central office, next to the train station
Quick turn around on this one, please get in touch to discuss further.
