Senior Venue Sales Manager

This well-established and unique event space is renowned for providing the ultimate venue for conferences and exhibitions. The business is now looking to add a Senior Venue Sales Manager to help drive the venue sales and grow the sales team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to promote and sell the venue to trade and consumer exhibition and experiential event organisers.

The role:

This sales role would suit an exciting, hungry, strategic thinking exhibition sales manager, with experience across venues, event organiser or event contracting.

What you’ll be doing:

  • The Exhibition Sales Manager will be responsible for attracting third party exhibitions to the venue in accordance with the business plan.
  • To account manage exhibition clients and ensure expectations are met.
  • To directly manage the Sales Account Executive and work closely with the Marketing Team and the Promotions Unit to ‘audience develop’ the market for exhibitions within the North West region with particular focus on the Consumer Show Market.
  • To identify trade PR opportunities for publication in the Exhibition Industry Trade Press.
  • To undertake relevant Sales and Marketing activities in order to achieve pre-set targets in accordance with the business plan and Sales and Marketing Plan.
  • To prepare event costs, bid documents and proposals as required for approval by the Director of Sales.
  • The duties of this post may require weekend, evening and night work and working bank holidays to meet the needs of the agreed programme of events activities and this is reflected in the salary for this role.

Key requirements:

  • At least 3-4 years Sales experience within Exhibition sales
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • To create a culture within the exhibition sector that puts the venue at the forefront of clients minds when placing business
  • Drive, passion and ambition 
  • Through the Sales Account Manager-Exhibitions inform and guide the organisation on client relationships and changing needs and demands
  • To develop a robust CRM process
  • On a monthly basis, report on enquiries received, lost and developed, the state of the sector including business position in relation to the budget target
  • Experienced in providing accurate reports and a working knowledge of costing events
