Senior Topical Engagement Communications Manager (Global role)

I am currently looking to recruit a Senior Topical Engagement Communications Manager for a leading Information Services provider. This position would report into the Head of Marketing Communications, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the direction and delivery of the businesses 'Topical Engagement' strategy; developing and delivering client communications programmes for key corporate projects; and developing corporate and product-level messaging to support the creation of brand and product materials and client engagement tools. Salary between £70,000 - £95,000 per annum dependent on level of experience. This role is based in Central London.

This role is a component of the Communications, Brand and Content Marketing team within the Global Marketing department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder interaction: This individual will work closely with a broad range of internal stakeholders including members of the Executive team, Sales, Product Management, Research, Group Communications and Marketing.
  • Deepen engagement: with key client segments around the businesses ideas and products, they are moving to a "topical' approach to creating and distributing research and product content. The topical engagement content model leverages quick turnaround commentary from our subject matter experts that responds to market and industry developments when they are top of mind with clients.
  • Oversee the delivery and execution of our content engagement programme.
  • Run editorial meetings, working with Subject Matter Experts from the Research and Product teams, as well as the broader PR, Content Marketing team and external writers to make decisions on the current topics or "stories" that will resonate with our clients.
  • Make decisions on the appropriate content type for each story - e.g. blog, index idea, social, graphic, video, etc.
  • Work with relevant SMEs to draft and publish topical content.
  • Where appropriate, appoint and direct our external content writers to create topical content.
  • Develop relationships and opportunities with global publishing partners and industry associations to promote data visibility and topical content syndication.
  • Create sales talking points based on topical themes/announcements.
  • Monitor, measure and report on the effectiveness of our topical engagement programme.
  • Establish strong governance and compliance procedures around topical content development.
  • Develop and delivering client communications for other key corporate strategic projects as required.
  • Develop a core set of corporate and product-level messaging platforms to support the creation of brand and product materials, and client engagement tools.
  • Create sales talking points based on topical themes/announcements.
  • Contribute to the development of the value proposition. Ensuring that the messaging is embedded in all key materials, and becomes part of the fabric of their corporate culture.

Skills / Requirements

  • This role carries significant responsibility both for supporting the long-term growth of the business through the development of a successful topical engagement program, and supporting high-profile strategic projects within the business.
  • Substantial market relevant knowledge and experience, gained within an index, buy or sell side organisation; preferably within a global context
  • Previous knowledge of financial indexes and risk tools - gained either from working for an index provider, or from using indexes or risk products within a financial services role
  • Experience in directing and managing corporate communications
  • Experience in working with asset owners and fund managers on a global basis would be advantageous
  • Experience in directing and implementing content marketing strategies, brand development, and brand promotion strategies would be advantageous
