Job Title: Senior Thermal Fluids System Engineer

Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire

Rate: £24.00 ph Ltd Co. - £28.00 ph Ltd Co.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible to lead the design and development and deliver harmonised systems solutions, consisting of multiple interconnected components, and other system interfaces with vehicles programmes
  • The person in this role is part of CORE group of competence and required to deliver Core thermal fluid system architectures for platforms, expertise is required to support the delivery of vehicle line programmes
  • System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis - carry out a range of analysis and investigations of the internal customer requirements to define the expected system functionality and their performance targets
  • Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain integrity between system and its components to arrive at a harmonised solution
  • System Functional and Physical Architecture - Liaise with architecture teams to maintain alignment with the specified programmes, as well as electrical and physical vehicle architecture
  • System Design Specification - prepare system requirements specification and developing functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements
  • System Integration - Define system logical and physical architecture, Interface Control Document and a system integration plan
  • Verification and Validation - Design and develop system integration tests
  • Lead cross-functional technical reviews on the systems
  • Adhere to the defined systems engineering process
  • Manage the delivery of systems within Climate Thermal fluids group across the range of architectures and vehicles
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of system targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Contribute to the delivery of the thermal fluids specialism onto all programmes, this should be done in line with the Systems Engineeringdiscipline outlined by Product Creation Systems
  • Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components including issue resolution and objective data analysis
  • Work with Technical Specialists and Research Engineering on Attribute and Function Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition and Failure Mode Avoidance
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
  • Key interactions: Climate Attribute team, Climate CFD CAE team, Thermal Energy management team, Powertrain Cooling team and Climate Electrical team

Experience Required:

  • Good relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
  • Model based engineering (MBE)
  • Requirements Management (RM)
  • Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience and knowledge in refrigeration and cooling thermodynamic/ thermo fluid principlesExperience in applying Systems Engine
