Senior Therapeutic Carer needed ASAP for Specialist Therapeutic service supporting Children in Hove.
Your new company
this company has been operating for 26 years providing therapeutic residential care and specialist therapeutic education to children and young people aged 6-18, there is supported accommodation to young care leavers aged 18 years and older. This specific home has been operating since 2006 and cares for up to 5 children, boys and girls, aged 12-16 on admission and up to age 18.
Your new role
to provide support and assistance to the registered manager and their deputy in creating, promoting an maintaining the appropriate group living environment for the nurturing and development of children and young people. Undertaking delegated tasks and instructions from line managers to a level of competence expected from the grade of post. Also taking on the role of shift co-coordinator when required which has the responsibility for planning, managing and taking on all aspects of the shift whilst undertaking this role.
What you'll need to succeed
- A good knowledge of child care practice and child development supported by a minimum of 1 year proven experience gained in a field of residential child care
- a stable and balanced personality able to work under pressure
- an insight into the needs of young people living in the care system
- strong leadership skills
- a willingness to undertake further training and professional development in the areas of management and therapeutic care.
