Senior Test Engineer

Test support function (A leading role on a Team of 3 other members providing support and Governance to upwards of 3 agile scrum teams based in Dorking, Basingstoke and India)

Location: Dorking. Initially however the successful applicant will need to spend a significant amount of their time based in Basingstoke / split between Dorking.

Role

The successful candidate will be integral to the development of efficient and scalable test automation on a range of focuses, initially focussed on the creation of a new digital platform

To design, develop and implement a testing approach to meet business expectations for rapid quality solutions. )

To contribute towards a test automation strategy that should be followed by Scrum Teams

To contribute towards a Test Governance process such that:

  • The needs (and future needs) of the Agile Teams are addressed and best practices are shared
  • Teams follow a consistent approach to Testing and Quality Assurance
  • There are unified dashboards and reporting across teams

To drive and support continuous improvement of Unum UK’s Global Services Testing and Quality Assurance capability.

Provide Test consultancy and guidance for new programs of work

Key skills / experience sought.

Mandatory Minimum of 24 months experience as a practitioner working within Agile teams successfully utilising high-levels of Test automation using TDD and BDD, alongside API and Exploratory testing

Ability to train and mentor others in the use of Selenium Webdriver, SpecFlow and programming languages such C#

Strong experience of Web technologies and tooling (BizTalk, REST, JSON, XML, NUnit or equivalent)

Highly desired / preferred

Experience of Data Analytics / Development and testing of Data Warehouses

Experience of testing integration Services (e.g Enterprise Service Bus)

Proven experience of training and mentoring others in automation and agile test / QA practices and techniques.

Proven experience of designing and implementing strategies for Agile delivery teams which to enable high levels of quality to be sustained whilst enabling fast feedback loops, together with high-levels of transparency and visibility on the quality of the deliveries from the Agile teams

Experience of working in environments where multiple delivery teams (including external 3rd Party supplier teams) contribute, collaborate and synchronised around a single Product backlog.

Strong knowledge and experience of developing and implementing KPIs for Quality dashboards

Strong knowledge of both Functional and Non-Functional testing techniques
