Kingspan Insulation is an acknowledged international leader in the development and manufacture of a wide range of high performance insulation products supplied to the building and construction sectors.
Kingspan manufactures extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board in the USA under the GreenGuard® brand name where it has already invested significantly in state of the art manufacturing facilities to expand its overall manufacturing capacity. Continuing its policy of international expansion the Company has recently invested substantially at its Selby plant specifically for the high volume automated manufacture of XPS insulation board.
This investment will complement other products manufactured on the site and in order to support the increase in manufacturing there is a need for an XPS technical specialist to head up production in the UK.
The Senior Technical Processing Manager will be responsible for the successful commissioning and start-up of the new plant together with providing ongoing technical support and further process and process development.
Reporting directly to the Divisional Operations Director this senior position will have responsibility for a specialist team and will oversee the final commissioning, operator training and contractor involvement during the final build and run-up of the plant to nameplate performance and beyond. As a candidate for this role you will have had several years hands-on management experience of XPS processes in the production of products for building materials, floor covering, packaging or recycling applications. You will ideally be qualified to degree or an equivalent level in polymer processing, chemical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Above all you will have a command of the operating practicalities surrounding automated production and process equipment in the XPS or polymer field. It would be a significant advantage if you have knowledge of extruder Screw/Die design, extrusion process optimisation, cost reduction, polymer selection and formulation development experience. Ideally also you will have experience in Six Sigma and have worked within a lean manufacturing environment and have the ability to train production and technical staff in this key area.
The role will also involve a degree of international travel and working at other Kingspan sites periodically. This Kingspan role represents a unique career opportunity for the right person with benefits and prospects that are unequalled within the sector, together with substantial financial strength underwriting the continued product development and capital investment programme. The prospects going forward to reach director level are very real and the package will not be an obstacle for the right person. Relocation assistance can also be offered.
