Description

The Senior Technical Accountant is responsible for:


For the interim period, the Senior Technical accountant will primarily be accountable for the implementation of IFRS 16 which is effective for the group January 2019.


In addition, and as time permits, the Senior Technical Accountant will provide advice to businesses on IFRS and UK GAAP accounting issues and developments including the treatment of high value or complex transactions such as acquisition accounting, impairments and reorganisations.


As a member of the Technical Accounting team, the Senior Technical Accountant will be required to:


* Maintain, formulate and review all group accounting policies
* Manage the process for implementing new standards/policies
* Provide technical training - IFRS and UK GAAP updates
* Review the Group's annual report, preliminary statement and half year statement for technical compliance
* Complete allocated notes to the financial statements
* Review judgement papers for technical compliance
* Liaise with external auditors on technical accounting issues
* Perform technical reviews of complex statutory accounts

Profile

The successful candidate will be a chartered Accountant (ACA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in Group consolidations and large plc reporting. You will have excellent knowledge of IFRS.

The position is based in Windsor.
