Senior Symfony Developer , Symphony 3.3,Mysql 5.7, Elastic Search, 65k-70k London

An excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Symfony developer to join a successful Property Technology company in London.

You will be instrumental in helping the CTO put best practices like scrum, event storming and BDD into practice. Plus, we’ve got investment, real sales people and business expertise.

You will :-

  • Lead the greenfield development of all our server-side APIs, built in Symfony, MySQL 5.7 and Elasticsearch

  • Projects include our feed parsers, web scrapers, the main listings database

  • Spec out requirements with tools like paper prototyping, impact mapping,

  • Mentoring other developers, providing code reviews and pair programming

  • You’ll lead scrum teams on specific projects

    Skills & Requirements

    Symfony (incv3.3) in great depth. This is predominantly a Symfony role, so you’ll know every configuration option for every component.

  • MySQL 5.7 - ideally with experience performing geospatial queries and handling sparse data on tables with around 10M rows

  • AWS- we’re building a DevOps environment, so you’ll feel comfortable SSHing into a server to identify problems in production.

    About the team

    You’ll be reporting directly to our CTO. He spends most of his time writing briefs and tickets, but occasionally gets his hands dirty debugging and optimising. It’s a 9am-5.30pm role, based full-time in the office, a few minutes’ walk from Canary Wharf station. We all work on brand new MacBook Pros. Our dev environment is whatever you want it to be, but most of us use Vagrant (and a little bit of Docker), and PHPStorm or Visual Studio.
