Senior Support Worker (Intervenor) - Driver Essential
Hours: Various casual hours available
Location: Multiple sites within Hertfordshire and Greater London Areas
Contract type: Temporary, Casual
Salary: £8.98 - £10.47 per hour dependent on experience (Inc. London allowance)
We have a number of flexible opportunities to work various days or hours per week.
In addition, we are looking for a fixed term (maternity cover) to work in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire until February 2018. You will support a child who has multi-sensory impairments for three hours, one afternoon per week after school.
About the role
As an Intervenor (Senior Support Worker) you will be to enable the individual to experience and join in the world around them as much as possible. This will be done by promoting the person’s social and personal development, encouraging their independent skills and facilitating their communication.
This support may be provided in someone’s home, their local community or work setting and personal care may be required.
Maternity cover post - We are looking for a candidate with a fun and outgoing personality who has a passion for supporting individuals to develop their own independence, communication skills and confidence. You would ideally have experience with Braille, however it could be a fantastic chance for you to learn new skills in this area.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
The ideal candidate will have achieved, or be willing to work toward, a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and also BSL level one or possess native sign language skills. You will have had experience of working with and providing practical support to, people with learning disabilities and / or multisensory impairments.
