About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our Database Administration Team within our IT department. This pivotal role is based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office, where you will ensure our back-end database systems are provisioned, maintained, and secured. Your work will empower our dedicated colleagues to support tenants across Sunderland effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
- Configure and maintain SQL Server high availability solutions.
- Develop and test backup and recovery procedures.
Performance optimisation:
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Monitor system metrics for optimal throughput.
Development:
- Support integration solutions for seamless data exchange.
- Contribute to improvements and migrations in on-premises and cloud technologies.
Version Control & Documentation:
- Manage database scripts and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Ensure consistency and traceability of changes.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver results.
- Communicate effectively to provide updates and address concerns.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Provide technical support for database-related issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
