Senior Sales Area Manager

£60,000 - £70,000 PLUS CAR/CAR ALLOWANCE + BONUS

Currently supporting my client within the lighting industry who are looking at hiring a senior sales area manager to join their UK Sales team.

You will be in charge of the Management of the existing mixed sales team (4 exclusive managers - 2 existing and 2 to be recruited in the short term, 5 non-exclusive agents)

Candidate must have experience within the lighting industry


  • Structure and change if needed the existing sales team by sales channel & area, recruiting new Sales Managers or Agents if needed
  • Evaluate and report on competition activity within the territory.
  • Negotiate and establish the annual sales targets of the market with the Europe Sales Manager
  • Negotiate and establish the annual sales targets of each area with the Sales Area Managers (reps & agents) and negotiate their annual bonus if applicable
  • Negotiate the annual rebates with distributors.
  • Negotiate the agreements of the Sales Agents
  • Monitor and approve the agents' commission on a monthly basis.
  • Establish and develop the Marketing & Communication plan
  • Attending local Trade Shows.
  • Manage Key Accounts (Hospitality & Contract industry) throughout the territory as requested by the European Sales Director
  • Manage and enhance the existing distributor network and continue to establish and develop long-term strategic partnerships within existing & new markets.


  • Lighting experience preferred, a seasoned professional that can demonstrate experience within the lighting industry.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Must be result-oriented, autonomous and with initiative.
  • The candidate must have an enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated personality
  • Possess strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Needs to be analytical
  • Must combine strong interpersonal skills with drive and tenacity
  • Availability to travel as required (visit to headquarters once a month -Spain- and travel within England visiting the different reps, agencies & customers).
