Aon are currently recruiting a Senior Risk Engineer (Oil, Gas or Petrochemical) to join our AGRC business. This role will be “home based” in the UK

About the Role

As a Senior Risk Engineer your key responsibilities will include:  

 

For allocated clients, manage the client relationship and organise and deliver underwriting surveys and reports

Liaise closely with broking colleagues to support the placement of their insurance programmes on the international insurance market

As part of the global Aon Energy Risk Engineering team, contribute to the development of technical approaches to meet evolving client needs

Deliver other services as required by clients eg. Project reviews, liability studies, training seminars/workshops

Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

 

About you

As Risk Engineer your skills and qualifications will include:  

 

Educated to a degree level or equivalent, preferably in chemical or mechanical engineering.

Significant experience within an oil, gas or petrochemical operating environment.

Specific substantial experience in the general area of process safety management is also highly desirable.

Good knowledge of hazard modelling tools is preferable but not essential.

Previous consulting experience beneficial but not essential.

Must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to clients in different cultures and at different levels of the organisation - from plant operator to senior manager. 

Must have an excellent level of written and spoken English; be able to deliver reports to deadlines and to make presentations to demanding audiences. Spanish language would be an advantage.

Must be a self starter and able to work solo for periods of time and as part of a team at other times.

Needs flexibility to be able to travel for 1- 2 weeks at a time.
