Senior Quantity Surveyor – Norfolk – To £60,000 + benefits
Our established Norfolk client provides services in construction and project management as a main contractor. They implement modern building technologies to create the homes and offices of tomorrow, whilst relying on traditional craftsmanship to restore stunning buildings from a bygone era. Contracts ranging from £750k up to £7m The projects mainly consist of residential schemes such as ground up developments.
We’ve been asked to find an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team to undertake the associated quantity surveying work for all our current JCT D&B contracts. The role is based in South Norfolk with regular site visits required for valuations and applications. The role will also benefit from working with an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor undertaking check measures.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Review bills of quantities prepared by 3rd cost consultants
Prepare tender and contract documents for take offs
Perform risk, value management and cost control
Regular review of supply chain lead times
Procure ahead of lead times to ensure programmes are ahead of schedule
Review subcontractor tenders with rate checks for materials, labour and plant
Issue orders to subcontractors using the company order templates
Review and value subcontractor valuation applications
Submit subcontractor valuation applications for approval to quality audit department
Maintain subcontractor payment application, payment notice and payless notice trackers
Agreement and certification of sub-contractor final accounts
Maintain and develop sub-contractor preferred database
Coordinate with Procurement Administrator for material procurement
Coordinate with Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to undertaking check measures for subcontractor valuation applications
Coordinate with Contracts Manager for value engineering and programme guidance
Highly motivated and ability to motivate others
Able to communicate and work as part of a team
The successful candidate will have:
2 years minimum experience as a Quantity or Project Surveyor
Experience in Property and Construction
Knowledge of RIBA Stages 4-6
This position is a full-time role based in the office in South Norfolk with working hours 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
£55,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience
