Senior public markets researcher/writer - investigative research team
Do you care about how public markets - from social care to universities to train companies - treat consumers? Do you want to work with for a team of 25 investigative researchers, journalists and market analysts making a difference to consumers' lives through the research we do, detriment we uncover and the stories we tell?
We have a fantastic new role for a researcher/writer to work with teams across the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
You'll be turning your research into compelling content for stakeholders across the organisation and the media, as well as for our website.
You'll be organising original research-based investigations such as carrying out in-depth desk-based policy-based research on childcare issues, organising a mystery-shop of train complaints or using freedom of information requests to get to the bottom of how the student loan system is doing.
Many of our successes start with our members. Take our recent work with colleagues across the organisation and magazine feature on how care homes are performing and treating older people - this started with Which? surveying and listening to its readers and supporters' stories.
What we're looking for:
We know that public markets is a wide area but we're looking for someone with a track record in research who has an understanding of how public markets work and an understanding of consumer concerns. Ideally you'll have worked in one or more public markets, but we're looking for enthusiasm to cover this wide and exciting brief.
Ideally you will have:
- Solid analytical and research skills
- Ability to manage multiple short and long term projects
- Ability to write for a consumer audience
- Digital skills - such as using databases
- Experience of working with consumer insights would be beneficial
What we offer
We're all about working with our researchers to make them the best they can be - including sharing expertise within a hugely experienced team.
Our rewards package is one of the best out there. You'll get 28 days' annual leave, an interest-free season ticket loan, life assurance, and a pension scheme that increases to 11% after you've been here for a year. You'll also get the chance to develop your career, with a big focus on internal development. And you can work every day knowing that you're playing your part in making consumers as powerful as the organisations they deal with.
