Are you looking for a challenging and diverse role with an opportunity to make a real difference?
Hampshire County Council has a duty to improve health and coordinate efforts to protect the public’s health and wellbeing, using its in-depth local knowledge and experience to improve services and outcomes for Hampshire residents.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a face paced, high profile team and support the County Councils response to COVID-19.
The postholder will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues across Hampshire County Council, as well as with a range of external partners and bring a strategic, evidence-based approach to the role. As someone who is self motivated, with excellent communication, organisational and negotiating skills the postholder will be able to operate with minimal supervision and will have a proven record of managing multi-disciplinary projects and an ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
As noted in the person specification there is a requirement for the successful applicant to have masters degree in Public Health. However, it is possible to consider candidates without a relevant masters degree if they can demonstrate they have the necessary knowledge and behaviours required of the role. In these circumstances a successful candidate would be required to undertake a masters degree on a part-time basis funded by Health Education Wessex, with the expectation that study on the degree will start within 12 months of their appointment.
As part of the work to develop our outbreak control plans in Hampshire County Council we would like to offer an opportunity for a secondment or role for up to 1 year for a project support officer into the public health team of Hampshire / Isle of Wight Councils.
