We are currently looking for an experienced Protein Production Scientist to join a cutting-edge company based in the Hertfordshire area. As the Protein Production Scientist you will be responsible for leading production, purification and characterisation of novel proteins.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Protein Production Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.You will provide leadership and hands-on expertise in the development of proteins with respect to Expression, Purification and Characterisation. As a Protein Production Scientist you will also identify and implement novel biochemical and biophysical assays and techniques.

2.You will collaborate with the line manager and other internal and external bodies to provide an efficient and productive working environment which is rapidly evolving as new data comes to light.

3.You will be responsible for writing summaries and reports in line with standard record keeping practices.

4.You will lead stable cell line processes regarding the expression of recombinant proteins.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Protein Production Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree and ideally a PhD in a life science discipline along with experience in a research or industrial setting.

2. Proven industry experience in protein research within a background in all branches of cell culture.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with AKTA equipment, enzymology, SPR and other Biophysical Techniques.
