Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning. The National Partnerships team supports the RNLI by securing, building and managing corporate partnerships that generate sustainable income, raise awareness, and help us acquire new supporters to help fund the RNLI’s lifesaving work.

Your Role

We are looking for a Senior Propositions Manager to join our friendly and ambitious team on a temporary contract for two years, to take a lead role in developing high value propositions to take out to organisations and enable the Partnerships team to secure and grow partnerships which generate funding for the RNLI’s lifesaving work.

The location of this role is flexible and can be home-based, but within a commutable distance of Poole or London, as the successful candidate will be required to travel to these locations on a regular basis, sometimes at short notice, to meet with their team and key internal and external stakeholders.

Alongside the National Partnerships Manager and other senior leads in the team, you will be responsible for working across the RNLI to develop innovative propositions which empower the Partnerships Team to be able to effectively attract, engage, deliver and retain high value corporate partnerships for the RNLI, that reflect both the RNLI’s and the company’s priorities, needs and ambitions. Propositions will include strategic relationships, sponsorship, licensing, cause-related marketing, campaign specific partnerships as well as more traditional fundraising partnerships. Internal stakeholder management and influence will be critical in this role. You will also take a lead role in ensuring the team’s internal processes and ways of working are robust to help support proposition development, securing new partnerships and maximising the potential of existing partnerships.

This is an exciting time to join our award-winning National Partnerships team at the RNLI, as we have a strong portfolio of partners and our Bicentenary celebrations are only a few years away. The team has ambitious income and engagement targets over the next five years, and this position is key in helping to ensure our continued growth. Current key partnerships include Helly Hansen, Haven and Ford.

This position will also play a key role in the leadership of the National Partnerships team, helping to shape the strategy, drive forward change and improvements, as well as supporting the team to ensure we maximise account management and new business.

About You

As well as a keen interest in the cause, you will have proven senior experience in a target driven fundraising or sales environment. You will be able to demonstrate experience of developing and delivering engaging innovative, persuasive, and ultimately successful partnerships propositions to win multi-facetted, six figure + partnerships.

You will be skilled in influencing and working with stakeholders, including management teams and Trustees, across a large organisation. You will be experienced at managing and juggling multiple high value projects and will have a proven track record of delivering creative successful high value propositions. You will have experience of working on high value sponsorship, licensing, and partnership propositions, have first-class grasp of charity partnerships landscapes and a deep understanding of what corporate partners are seeking from charitable activity.
